Provide Holiday Treats

Internet Content Treats It's that time of the year.  We're not talking about sending your customer list a tin of cookies.  We're talking about content treats.  Hopefully you already have your holiday communications calendar prepared and your pulling together your content treats. Here's a few recipes for some holiday treats:

A little Holiday Cheer

Like Office Max has done for several years running with its 'Elf Yourself' program? Or better yet, feature ... relevant and helpful content such as recipes, shopping tips, or ideas for a new holiday tradition.

Holiday Story

Consider a special newsletter series that tells a story about your company holiday spirt; or one that gives specific gift suggestions each week. People love a limited-time email series because it clarifies and manages their expectations from the start and promises not to go on indefinitely.

For the Guys

Internet-only promotions are great as well as inventory they won't find in your brick-and-mortar store.

Remember that you can issue post-holiday rewards for holiday-period purchases.  That strategy prevents erosion of holiday sales margins while igniting post-holiday sales during typically slow periods.

Spread some  of your own sparkle! Consider ideas like these to change your customer's Bah, Humbug to a Ho-Ho-Ho by giving him or her a reason to celebrate.
